I am a mom to four wonderful little boys under six. Whenever I mention that we are taking a trip to Disney I always get the “what are you thinking” look. Disney with little ones can be a task and a half. If you are not prepared it can become a chore rather than a vacation. Here are my top three go-to tips for those traveling with little ones.

  1. Hit up the dollar store! You can find some fantastic Disney gear like crayons and coloring books. Also grab some bubbles, magna doodles, ponchos and neon glow sticks. These are great to keep the kids busy while you wait on line for a ride. It’s better to buy these things ahead of time rather than paying a ton of money at the parks. Plus you don’t have to worry about anything getting lost or broke because it only cost you $1!!!
  2. Pack snacks before you go. I have one suitcase dedicated to goodies. I include goldfish, fruit snacks, pop tarts and anything else the kids like to munch on. Bring a stack of sippy cups and zip lock bags as well. You can grab a pack of 8 toss-a-way sippy cups for around $2. If you have really little ones I also use this suitcase to hold diapers. When your trip is over you can use the empty case to hold all your souvenirs!
  3. Disney transportation is not terrible with strollers. We travel with a double stroller and a single stroller. Try to pack your stroller items in a bag so when you need to fold it you can grab and go. If the bus is crowded it IS worth the wait to pass and take the next bus that arrives. Instead of being the last to get on you will be the first and have a much better ride. Keep in mind you rarely have to fold a stroller when taking the monorail or Disney boats. If you’re at the Magic Kingdom and need to get to the Beach Club you can take the monorail to Epcot. There is a back entrance just past the United Kingdom that will take you on a path directly to the Beach Club and Boardwalk resorts.

There are so many tips that are helpful when visiting Disney. The most important of all is to have a fantastic and magical time!
